On Saturday, 31st August, 2024, our CEO, Roberta Edu-Oyedokun, had the privilege of attending and addressing participants at the Mamamoni CFYE Female Agent Network Program. This event, held at Festival Hotel Conference Center, Lagos, alongside esteemed women leaders like Okocha Nkem Christiana, founder of Mamamoni, and Adejoke Lasisi, founder of Planet 3R, focused on empowering young women within the Mamamoni Network.
During the program, we discussed critical strategies to expand the income streams of these women, helping them achieve financial independence. Equally important was our shared commitment to advocating for healthy food choices within their communities. At Moppet, we believe that financial empowerment and healthy living go hand in hand, and this event was a perfect platform to reinforce that belief.
Roberta Oyedokun emphasized her passion for women’s empowerment, stating, “I love to be in any place where women empowerment is mentioned, especially any program that gives women access to financial security. We cannot talk about women empowerment when women are not financially stable, it simply would not work. When women are empowered, we are empowering the community, because no woman can have money and allow her children to go hungry. Empowering women is empowering generations to come. Children will go to school when their mothers have the resources, they will eat well, and they will lead better lives.”
She also urged the women to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by Mamamoni, encouraging them to “walk the talk” by using every chance they have to earn an income and advocate for healthy meals in their communities. Roberta stressed the importance of ensuring that Nigerian children consume nutritious foods made from locally sourced ingredients, foods that reflect our rich agricultural heritage. She advised mothers to carefully study product labels to understand the ingredients and campaign only for healthy food choices.
In addition to introducing Moppet Foods, our line of nutritious cereals made from the finest organic, locally sourced ingredients, we offered these women the exciting opportunity to become Moppet Champions. As Moppet Champions, they can earn an income while promoting healthy living, ensuring that both their families and communities benefit from better nutrition.
